Our role in Lusail's smart city vision
QUBOS was an integral part of the Lusail City development project, responsible for the design and management of the natural gas infrastructure. Our involvement included the comprehensive design of the Pressure Reduction and Metering Station (PRMS) and the internal gas network for multiple buildings. We successfully handed over the gas works during the design phase and conducted final inspections prior to commissioning, in close collaboration with Marafeq Qatar.
Achieving project success
Our biggest achievement in this project was designing a fit-for-purpose solution that seamlessly complied with Lusail's vision of a smart city. We successfully met the stringent requirements of the civil defence and satisfied the diverse needs of multiple developers, ensuring a robust and efficient gas network for the entire development.
Overcoming unique challenges
Each building within the Lusail project presented unique challenges. For instance, when a developer expressed concerns about exposed gas pipes, we collaborated closely with the architectural consultant. Together, we designed an external, fully ventilated shaft to discreetly cover the piping, ensuring compliance with gas requirements without compromising the building's aesthetic integrity.
