Overcoming a critical challenge

At the New Doha International Airport, QUBOSE was tasked with the design and management of an LPG mounted tank facility for the catering services. This involved installing two 200,000 L tanks with vaporisers and a complete network to the facility. A significant challenge arose when previously purchased above-ground tanks needed to be utilised as underground tanks to comply with strict civil defence regulations.

An innovative engineering solution

To address the compliance issue while utilising existing assets, QUBOSE proposed an innovative mounted solution for the tanks. This bespoke design ensured full compliance with NFPA58 standards, effectively transforming above-ground tanks into a safe and compliant underground system. This clever engineering approach met all civil defence requirements without the need for costly new tank acquisitions.
